Product Description
This is the definitive story of The Championships. In the Men's Singles Roger Federer was attempting to become the first man in the modern era to win six consecutive titles. His main rival, Rafael Nadal, started his quest to become the first man since Bjorn Borg to win both the French Open and Wimbledon in the same year. In the Women's Singles, defending champion Venus Williams was attempting to win her fifth title.

Russia was the most represented nation at SW19. In the biggest shock of the first week, Marat Safin defeated the third seed Novak Djokovic. Safin's journey ended when he lost to Federer in the semi finals.

Britain's best hopes rested on the shoulders of Andy Murray. In the fourth round against Frenchman Richard Gasquet the Scot made an epic recovery from two sets down to give the home nation something to cheer about.

With the top four seeds in the women s draw losing before the last eight, the final was a family affair, Venus Williams versus her younger sister Serena. Venus won her seventh Grand Slam crown. The sisters went on to win the Ladies Doubles title for a third time.

The Men's Final was the longest in Wimbledon s history. Rafael Nadal took a two sets to love lead before Roger Federer made an incredible recovery taking the match to a thrilling deciding set. Nadal eventually ended the five time champion's reign claiming his first title in the twilight on Centre Court. Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe both acclaimed the match the greatest Men's Singles Final.

Narrated by Sam Hazeldine, written by Andrew Longmore of the Sunday Times and featuring exclusive contributions from Rafael Nadal, Venus Williams, Roger Federer, Bjorn Borg, Billie Jean King, Martina Navratilova and Boris Becker, this documentary is a highly entertaining record of the proceedings at The Lawn Tennis Championships at Wimbledon 2008.
