Description
1. "Quality of Mercy"On a remote planet, Major Skokes (Robert Patrick) has been captured by aliens and placed in a cell. His cellmate is a woman who is slowly being transformed into a hideous creature. Can he escape before a similar fate befalls him?2. "Afterlife"A convicted killer (Clancy Brown) is given a choice between dying by lethal injection or becoming part of a secret military experiment. He soon regrets choosing life when he discovers he's slowly and painfully turning into an alien life form!3. "The Grell"Rescued from their dying planet, the Grell had come to Earth not as equals but as slaves. Now, an uprising has gripped the world in fear and a high-ranking government leader (Ted Shackelford), who is lost in Grell territory, experiences firsthand the ugly face of racism.4. "Relativity Theory"An Earth survey team headed by Teresa Janovitch (Melissa Gilbert) has landed on a remote planet in search of new resources. Encountering a seemingly hostile group of aliens, the team kills them to take back home...and unwittingly triggers an interstellar war!5. "Alien Shop"An alien shapeshifter owns a unique curio shop where his merchandise possesses strange powers. And when a down-and-out petty crook (Johnathon Schaech) takes a wallet from the store, he learns the hard way that money not earned comes with a price.6. "Beyond the Veil"Eddie's horrific dreams of alien abduction are making him so crazy he's placed into a mental rehab unit specially tailored for those with similar delusions. What he discovers inside the ward is an alien plot to silence permanently those who talk too much.

3 out of 5 stars A Mixed Bag   September 22, 2008
Red Star Girl (Poughkeepsie, NY, USA)
I bought this ("Aliens Among Us") and "Sex and Science Fiction." I also bought "Outer Limits, Season 1." I don't know why I chose the "grouped" episodes instead of other seasons, since after having viewed them all, the "Outer Limits, Season 1" was definitely better and more enjoyable. I think it's a waste of money to buy the grouped episodes rather than getting them by seasons.

5 out of 5 stars Great TV   September 12, 2008

If you liked the TV series you'll like these compilations on the same theme. Double sided DVD's.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty darned good entertainment!   October 7, 2007

This DVD is excellent entertainment. Most of the episodes are very well done, with one or two exceptions. "Relativity Theory" alone is worth the price of this DVD--a deeply moving story about the importance of mercy and the consequences of immoral conduct. The other episodes are all pretty good. This collection is far above most made-for-TV series. Incredibly, it aims for, and appeals to, the viewer's intellect. Most times it scores a bull's-eye.

One thing I don't care for in this series is its persistent portrayal of the US Government as an evil, ruthless entity. This grates, and was not necessary to make this an entertaining series.

Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Aliens Among Us   March 12, 2007

I already loved the New Outer Limits and have been waiting for season 2 to be released. Only 1 of the episodes in this collection came from season one, so I don't feel too cheated. I also got one of my favorite episodes "Afterlife", which stars Clancey Brown from HBO's Carnival. This collection dealt alot with human ethics and morality. In pretty much all of the episodes, humanity was tested. In "Afterlife", we failed, but in "Alien Shop", we passed. I really enjoyed this little set, and will probably repeat these episodes when new seasons are released (hopefully soon). I, like many other people, am disappointed that MGM chose to block episodes in sets like this instead of releasing complete seasons. I do feel this "Aliens Among Us" Collections is one of the better collections. For $7.47, I couldn't complain too much.
