Product Description Georgeous bimbos backstabing producers wanna-be stars and sloshed waiters are just some of the characters at hollywood mogul fred clutterbucks party-an affair that dissolves into a wild frenzy of pratfalls and punchlines. Amazon.com Though this film is a relatively minor one in the massive canon of Peter Sellers, it has moments of absolute hilarity. Written and directed by Blake Edwards, one of Sellers's most fertile collaborators, the film stars Sellers as a would-be actor from India (let them try to get away with that today) who is a walking disaster area. After ruining a day's shooting as an extra on a film, he finds himself unintentionally invited to a big Hollywood party. That's pretty much it as far as plot goes, but Edwards and Sellers know how to milk a simple idea for an unending string of slapstick gags. The result is a film that is episodic and sketchy, but also frequently loony in an inspired way. --Marshall Fine

It is a 60's Classic. It is a must buy and enjoy The Party! December 23, 2008 Fabio R. Marcos (USA) This movie is a classic comedy of the 60's. It is very subtle. It is a funny fine portrait of the 60's Hollywood life style with a hint of 60's movie's industry by characterization. But pay attention to details: his Indian accent, the red socks and white shoes, the jazz band that never stops when house is soaped, the `General' that gives up the whole thing by saying "Save the paintings!(not this one you idiot, just the good stuff!)" and many, many others. "The Russians are coming...."? Are you kidding me? Hahaha! "Go naked over his bum..."? Hahaha And at the end, he's has to go? He's got to feed APU?!! Come on..... A must buy.
Classic Peter Sellers October 30, 2008 Francisco J. Lopez (California) Get the popcorn, sit on your favorite sofa and get ready to laugh from begining to end. Peter Seller's best movie. If you like the Pink Panther series, you ain't seen nothing yet. Peter Selles is a comedic genious and will be greatly missed in Hollywood.
The Party October 8, 2008 Mary C. Williams (Pulaski, VA) I've always enjoyed watching Peter Sellers movies over the years. Somehow I'd completely missed ever seeing "The Party" until I caught the last half on a television channel. The visual jokes soon had me laughing out loud. So I had to order a DVD to see all of it. It did not let me down. Guaranteed to lift you out of your doldrums.
Full of laughs October 6, 2008 Earl Nabritt (Newport News, VA USA) This movie is a classic and very entertaining. Peter Sellers at what he did best in the world of comedy!!
Hilarious Peter Sellers! September 30, 2008 vetnox (Colo. Spgs, CO USA) A typical Peter Sellers vehicle, one laugh after the other! The fun easily compares to his perfect Inspector Clouseau. He is perhaps only rivalled (at least a little) by the poor waiter who drinks so much he can't stand straight anymore. The DVD is worth every cent!
