| Customer Reviews:
From clerk to a queen's favorite September 17, 2008 Annie Van Auken (Planet Earth) After appearing on three early BBC-TV sitcoms, Norman Wisdom made a string of comedies for the Rank Organsation. The MAN OF THE MOMENT (presented here by TELEVISTA) is one of these. Here, Norman is a Civil Service file clerk who substitutes for an ailing delegate at a Geneva conference. When he's sacked for accidentally vetoing a planned British/US base near the South Sea island of Tawaki, the queen of that land will only renegotiate terms with Norman. Norman Wisdom also stars in UP IN THE WORLD (available from TELEVISTA Nov. '08). Parenthetical number preceding title is a 1 to 10 viewer poll rating found at a film resource website. (5.7) Man of the Moment (UK-1955) - Norman Wisdom/Lana Morris/Belinda Lee/Jerry Desmonde/Karel Stepanek/Violet Farebrother/Cyril Chamberlain CAST TRIVIA-- Lana Morris (Penny) was a panelist on several 1960s British game shows. Violet Farebrother (Queen of Tawaki) made her screen debut in 1911 as Queen Elizabeth in RICHARD III. Cyril Chamberlain (British delegate) retired from acting in 1966 to run an antique shop in Wales.
