Description Directed by Lamberto Brava (Demons 1-2, Delirium). Cheryl, a writer from America, goes on holiday with her husband and young son to an ancient Italian villa. Cheryl slowly and shockingly begins to realize that an evil, demon-like creature that haunted her childhood nightmares is real and alive, inhabiting the dark cavernous cellar of their old mansion!

The Dumbest Story Ever Told December 7, 2008 Howard M. Kindel I'm not hard to please when it comes to horror films (I gave Jeepers Creepers five stars!); but this one is absolutely the pits. I can't even imagine how you would go about making a worse film. The story makes the term "non-story" seem respectable; whatever the story was, it didn't work on any level: not horror, not thriller, certainly not physchological. The best actor in the film, by far, was the little white Teddy Bear, who spent most of the time on the basement floor. Runner-up was the Jeep Cherokee, whose performance was flawless (it even started right up when it was needed). The set was interesting: it was filmed in a real Italian castle; that's about it though. It's hard to believe this film was made by Lamberto Bava, who helped created Demons and Demons II - two of the greatest horror films of all time. Maybe somebody slipped him a rejected Antonioni script as a joke and he ran with it. One thing is clear though: the village people at the beginning who wanted nothing to do with the family seeking the castle were spot on.
re-master has a big flaw September 29, 2008 Stewart Ruddy (Oakland, CA USA) Demons II I bought two copies of this re-master a year apart hoping they would fix a mastering flaw at aprox. 59 mins. The image starts jumping in a vertical fashion for a little while for no reason. I got in touch with Anchor Bay but they did not answer. The first release of this title did not have this problem. This is not an upgrade if this is not fixed. AVOID FOR NOW!!!!!
Okay Movie, by awesomep July 19, 2008 awesomep The first movie, "Demons", was much better in my opinion. The acting was a little better, and it was scarier when I first saw it. As with the first movie, what was the point of the punk rocker teens? It did not add much to the movie at all. It seemed out of place to me having that scene in the movie. The young lady who played Sally, was better at playing a demon than her human character. Her whinning was quite annoying and the acting over the top at times. The scene with the demon fighting the expecting mother was silly and could have been left out of the film. The other scene was when the expecting mother went into labor and had her baby, only to get up with her husband and walk out of the building as though she was going for a walk. The three stars are for the demons makeup and how scary they could be at times.
Not as good as the original May 13, 2008 Marty Peduncle (Cleveland OH) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I figured since this was another Argento/Bava effort like the original that it might have turned out alright, but...Probably should have quit while I was ahead. Demons 2 is actually bears a striking resemblance to the original in many aspects, but on the overall scale I felt that it didn't fare quite as well. A few of the original cast members return here in different roles, similar soundtrack, effects are on par. Perhaps Demons 2 is just too much like the first to really standout on its own. Here we meet a wide assortment of characters living in a large urban apartment building. A movie on television tells the familiar tale of the demons, and to the resident's surprise, the creatures come right out of the television screen and wreak havoc inside the seemingly impenetrable apartment building. Once again, that's about as far as it goes plotwise with the remainder being an hour long montage of chase/death scenes. The cast here is WAY too large for us to actually get acquainted with any of the characters, the net result being that we simply don't care what's happening to anybody. Watching the inhabitants trying to escape from this fortress-like apartment building is just absymal, way too ridiculous to ignore. (How many apartments are equipped with bullet proof windows on every floor? What type of garage door withstands cars plowing into it and axes striking it?). There's also a scene where a woman goes into labor and this fast paced heavy metal thrash music fades in for some reason, that part really had me laughing out loud with its idiocy. Demons 2 is another mindless, and I mean mindless, flick pitting humans against the zombie-like demons. There are good gore scenes a plenty, but it really just grows tiresome, I was praying for this to be over halfway through. If you are a hardcore fan of the first, you'll like this one just as much. Otherwise I'd say steer clear of this one.
A huge letdown April 1, 2008 Derrick Dunn (Woodbridge,VA) Demons 2 is standard sequel to a good horror film. The film pretty much follows the first film's plot but this time it's a TV broadcast instead of a movie. Some of the same cast is even back and the flying baby demon talk about funny.
