Bloody Moon is such a bad movie that I love it for being bad December 22, 2008 CraigalsCosmosis (Chicago,IL USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Naked school girls get stabbed, strangled and sawed(in case you didn't notice the cover art).Primo Eurotrash directed by Jess Franco has all the qualities of its so bad it's good and really funny too(kinda reminds me of"Scary Movie1-3).One example of this is when the killer has one girl on a stone mill power saw and a 10 year old boy who is hiding in some bushes witnessing this event take place comes out of the bushes and turns off the saw,the killer then pushes the boy out of the way and turns the saw back on,the boy kicks the killer in the ankle and runs away. After the saw decapitates the victim's(mannequin)head some time later he gets in his car and finds the boy still running down a wide open road. You can guess what happens next.If you like horror movies like "Pieces","Friday the 13th"and"Scary Movie"pick up this sleaze fest that has all the depraved traits you could ask for that include gore, gratuitous nudity, violence, incest, voyeurism and roller disco.Goes well with any slasher collection.
Just see it, it is AWESOME!!! November 23, 2008 Jeffrey M. Meyer (Syracuse NY) This movie is just plain awesome. One of the best Franco movies I've seen since Faceless. I love it. Great looking girls, better gore than Devil Hunter, way better gore. Some awesome death scenes. This movie is just what you would want from an 80's slasher sleaze movie. The bad point, the peeping Tom dude got very old. Too much peeping in the movie, need more death scenes to keep the pace moveing. The middle act is slow until the circle saw scene. Plus you hardly ever see kids die in movies anymore. Franco does this one poor boy in pretty good with a car. Please see this movie. Remember the middle act is very slow. The beginning and end are AWESOME!!! Two thumbs up for the music as well.

Yep Bloody Moon, the type of film that's so bad it's good. One of those guilty pleasure films that's so horrendous that you end up laughing at the total absurdity and nonsense of it all. This was definetely one of the wierder entries in the early 80s slasher films and the main thing that it has going for it was the gore and this film has tons of it, it also has a large amount of nudity which is normally found in Franco's films. It's a good thing that this dvd is un-cut cause without the gore this film would have been another lousy and forgettable European horror flick, Jess Franco did a decent job directing this film although it suffers from having some atrocious acting and a bad dubbing job. But the film has a couple of great highlights which includes the unforgettable scene involving decapitation by circular saw and a little kid who gets run over by a Rolls Royce which I thought was hilarious and the plot involves incest between the brother and sister couple (who obviously have issues) who are planing to get the inheritance from their mother who sits in a wheelchair and yells alot, they also live near The International Youth Club Boarding School Of Languages where a group of girls learn Spanish, hang out by the topless pool and lust after Antonio, the gardener-tennis instructor but they soon fall victim to a knife wielding maniac and some awful truths are about to be revealed, the girls are obviously not bright so it was alot easier for the killer to walk around the place without being noticed there was a plot twist that happens during the middle of the film that you can see a mile away so it wasn't exactly a mystery. It was obvious that Franco was trying to cash in on the slasher craze of the early 80's, only his film was alot sleazier and kind of has that European touch. Like I said before this film has tons of gore and some brutal and nasty death scenes, one in particular has a knife stabbing through a female breast and one guy that gets chainsawed to death, yes very nice!. The film was obviously a mess but I still thought it was appealing, you will probably like this if you've seen some of Joe D'amato, Lucio Fulci and Jess Franco's previous films everyone else should probably avoid this. It was a nice and trashy European slasher flick that's only going to appeal to a few hardcore horror fans.
slasher flick from 1981 May 24, 2008 Bartok Kinski (Prague) 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
Bloody moon is a Spanish slasher flick from 1981. It's like a refreshing version of Friday the 13th with bad dubbing, nonsensical dialogue and bad editing. The film is so hilarious, it's set in a language school where the girls talk endlessly about boys, "Antonio is the best lover on campus...you can have a go of him if you like" the boys say things like "oh baby, I want you to melt in my arms". The best moment, however is when a girl is picked up in a car by a man in a mask. He takes her to an old mill and ties her to a table connected to a buzzsaw. Only when he switches on the saw does she finally get suspicious. It's a trash movie addicts delight, but others beware.
