Don't wast a second. If you're a fan you need this cut of the film ASAP so click below and get to ordering. For the purists out there the original theatrical cut is also included but I'm thinking you're never going to watch that again. I know I'm not. Spread the word, and rejoice! Harry Warden's original rampage is back with a blood-soaked vengeance! 2009 is looking pretty sweet already! [....]
Harry Warden went crazy and started killing everyone, and they finally restored it December 28, 2008 N. P. Stathoulopoulos (Brooklyn, NY) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Took nearly 30 years(!), but your life will be complete once this baby hits the shelves. Seems they've gotten around to sewing the MPAA-cut footage from this 1981 slasher back into the film, so we finally get a complete 'restored' MBV. About time, yes, and perhaps some of the scenes will make sense now that you can see what's going on. No, it's not a restoration of The Magnificent Ambersons. No, I doubt the restored MBV footage will shed new light on man's place on earth. But for fans of the early 80s slashers, now considered 'classics' in this age of...remakes, this is a very, very welcome release. I don't know if the Paramounts of the world just don't really care at the end of the day, or they don't read fan reviews, or they don't go to Amazon, but eventually, it seems, they always get around to releasing an uncut this-or-that with special thingees included. For new movies, they can release a six-DVD set right away, but for 20 or 30-year old flicks, they take that long to listen to fanatics. Shame on the MPAA for cutting this flick apart---the main casualty still appears to be the ending, with certain murders cut to the point that you don't know what just happened. However, we also get the bartender-jokester kill, his axe-to-the-head-while-planning-practical-joke-while-drunk a true classic of the genre. Obviously recommended! Why else are you reading this, then?
ITS ABOUT TIME December 23, 2008 xxxGRINDHOUSExxx (UK) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
At last! Slasher fans will finally get the opportunity to see this excellent slasher film completely RESTORED AND UNCUT. Initial rumours peristed the gore footage would be as a bonus feature - not spliced back into the film, HOWEVER, this it has been confirmed by Lionsgate that the movie will be released with the gore restored in its correct place. Lionsgate have done what Paramount should have done several times before. Slasher fans could do with a company like Lionsgate to get their hands on the Friday The 13th series so we can see those uncut too - but i'm dreaming of course - paramount will never sell the rights to those because it makes too much cash for them. So at last - MY BLOODY AVLENTINE TOTALLY UNCUT, REMASTERED AND RESTORED, IN WIDESCREEN! What more could a slasher fan ask for - don't hesitate - BUY THIS NOW!
where's the blu-ray?? December 22, 2008 T. Whyle (moon twp, pa United States) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is great news that we will finally get this one uncut, but where's the blu-ray?? Standard-def stuff looks like crap on my big-screen tv & I lately lack motivation to buy regular dvds...I usually pay more attention to how lousy the quality is rather than the movie itself. Friday the 13th is getting an uncut blu-ray alongside the release of the remake, so why not this? We need more horror releases on blu-ray!!!!
