Amazon.com Parents seeking kid-friendly, Christian entertainment can be comfortable letting their kids watch Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie, which turns the characters from the biblical story of Jonah into a bunch of talking cucumbers, asparagus, peas, and other vegetables. When God instructs the prophet Jonah to go to the wicked city of Ninevah to spread His word, Jonah balks and tries to flee by ship--only to end up in the belly of a whale. When he finally consents to go to Ninevah, things don't turn out quite the way he expects. The VeggieTales team uses computer animation and upbeat musical numbers to express Christian themes, but they do so without being painfully didactic. The animation (and the humor) isn't as sophisticated as that in Toy Story or Shrek, and kids may find some elements of the story confusing, but this may provide an opportunity for parents and kids to discuss values. --Bret Fetzer

Veggie Tales: Jonah November 25, 2008 Marilyn 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The CD was very faulty, with jumps & starts & stops. The subtitles were several minutes behind the audio. We have finally given up watching it, & since I have waited too long to return it, we will just throw it away.
Veggie Tales Deliver the Goods! October 10, 2008 Tiny Dancer (Metuchen, NJ) Very good show, as usual. My daughter is not quite old enough (2 1/2), to understand all the references but, a good time to be had, for sure.
Make sure you listen to the commentary by Larry the Cucumber and Mr. Lunt September 11, 2008 Aaron J. West I think the voice-over commentary is even funnier than the movie. My wife and I couldn't stop laughing. Please don't skip this part.
Veggie Tales Jonah September 8, 2008 R. Scruggs I received my product without any problem, in good time and the product was great! I watch it every weekend without fail! Great purchase and seller.
Fast August 3, 2008 B. Shurn (Guam) I love Amazon! What I love about it most is that even though I'm overseas I still get fast and friendly service. Without fail I always get my product within a week. I only wish I can purchase everything from Amazon. Thanks!
