Can I have my money back? November 17, 2008 Aaron Chenoweth (Chicago, IL USA) I saw this at a store and bought it before thinking about. After watching this with my 3 year old several times - I ask myself; Why didn't I come to Amazon to read the reviews? You get 4 stories about the princesses. The Ariel and Jasmine look like they came from a Saturday morning cartoon from years ago and are annoying long. Then the Belle and Cinderella are Story Book and not cartoon. They looked lifted from some other Disney movies I am not aware of and run about 7 minutes each (I guess that's good since they ended quickly). When it comes down to it; after wasting money buying this you could have just watched the cartoon network and got the same thing for free and probably better quality. I would give this 2 stars since my daughter has watched it a few times, but then I have to take away 2 stars because I had to sit thru and watch them with her. However, I have to give this DVD one star for the valuable lesson I learned: teach yourself and your children to research something before they buy it.
Who knew Disney could make something so bad? Huge disappointment. November 3, 2008 K. L. Price The other negative reviews are right on. This is so cheap, so thrown together and so unprofessional that it comes off like an illegal bootleg copy. I sat with my mouth gaping wondering how this one slipped through Disney's quality control. Their movies are typically phenomenal and entirely age appropriate. This one is creepy and weird and doesn't even make sense - add in the amateur graphics and choppy editing and you'll be wishing you'd left your money in your bank account.
My daughter loves it! May 12, 2007 Brian S. Hamilton (Portland, OR USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this as a 5th birthday present for my daughter, and she loves it! She watches it quite often.
This dvd is BAD March 18, 2007 M. Partee (Chicago IL USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We bought my daughter the Princess Songs video - it's great. Based on that, we bought Princess Stories - it's AWEFUL. The animation is very poor - this is Cartoon Channel quality, not Disney. The stories are age inappropriate. The first two are very uncomfortable to watch with a kid -way too much "dark" imagery and too scary. The third story is actual still photos with verbal narrative. I wouldn't want this dvd if it was free.
It's not for Us it is for our little Princess August 17, 2006 Anjela S Siegrist (AZ, for now) 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
I was reading the other reviews and noticed a common theme. Many parents didn't care too much for the film. Well, I just want to say, that 1) it's not that bad and 2) IT IS FOR THE CHILDREN, NOT US!. Jasmine Monet, my 3 year old (very sophisticate 3) loves this film and could care less if Ariel's lips don't move at the right time. Even my 2 year old son will sit quietly through this movie calling, "Princess..." It's enjoyable for me to see the children's enjoyment. There is a Princess music video as an extra on the disk. It is awesome! I even enjoy this part. There are 2 stories that look like the TV is reading the children a story. This is pleasant for us. Also, the first movie is a Little Mermaid feature. Nothing from the original movie so it's all new to the children. Great stuff in here!
