This was one of my favorite movies growing up, so I was very excited to find the DVD recently. After 10 years it is still hugely entertaining for all ages, and sure to be a hit with any family.

Dear Amazon:
The Disney movie, "Shipwrecked" is a very entertaining family film. A good story and the acting was very pleasant................a good family movie with plenty of beautifully shot scenery.
I recommend this movie to all who are looking for a nice family entainment without all the sexual and negativeness society nowadays finds as normal for making movies.

1 out of 5 stars Another Disney Disaster   September 2, 2008

Excellent movie, but why does Disney keep giving us fans the dreaded Pan and Scan versions of great movies? The future of TV is 16X9 TV sets, we want WIDESCREEN versions of movies. When dvd's first came out, they were full screen on one side, widescreen on the other. Now we don't even get the choice. Bummer!

Love this movie! I first saw it when I was four (this is when I began my love for Gabriel Byrne), and held onto the vhs until it was lost a few years ago. Showed it to friends who would enjoy the story, and the cleanness of the film. As much fun to watch now as back then. Glad for the DVD version! It's great for the family, parents and kids alike will enjoy the adventure. This movie is a treasure, one that should be in your collection. Yes, low budget film, but good "old fashioned" Disney. There's a reality involved, with a child having to become a man to help his family survive, and learning to live in a new world and still be himself. Amazingly fun!

5 out of 5 stars Good adventure movie   August 1, 2008
Amy E. Barker (Virginia)
I first saw Shipwrecked on the Disney Channel during the 1990s, when I was a teen. I saw it again recently on the Hallmark Channel. So glad that Amazon will be finally selling it on DVD.

Shipwrecked is about a Norwegian boy, named Hakon, who works on a ship to pay off debts for his family. The movie is an epic sea adventure in the tradition of Treasure Island or Swiss Family Robinson. If you enjoy those types of movies, you will like this movie.
