Amazon.com Budding romance, discovering one's personal identity, and the struggle to become self-sufficient are challenges every teenager faces, but things are even more complicated for teenage pop star Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus) who's trying to conceal her on-stage identity from her fellow classmates and just be normal girl Miley Stewart. Miley has managed to put thoughts of television heartthrob Jake Ryan (Cody Linley) out of her mind during his six month absence, but now that he's back from shooting his movie in "Achy Jakey Heart Parts One and Two," Miley is uncertain about whether or not she wants to date Jake. Add in strong feelings of jealousy regarding his popularity, her own resolve to keep her pop star identity a secret from her schoolmates and the public at large, and a growing unease about what kind of person Jake really is inside, and Miley is one confused teenager. "I Am Hannah, Hear Me Croak" finds Hannah losing her voice after an especially long concert and in need of a surgery that causes her to reexamine her whole sense of identity and could change her life forever. Miley and her father clash in "I Want You To Want Me. . .To Go To Florida" when Miley asserts her independence by flying to a concert across the United States without her father's permission. In the end, it looks like both Miley and her father have a little growing up to do. All four episodes are brimming with great music, comedy from Miley's brother Jackson (Jason Earles) and dad Robbie Ray (Billy Ray Cyrus), and a wholesome message about believing in oneself. Bonus features include Billy Ray Cyrus's music video "Ready, Set, Don't Go" and a backstage look at keeping secrets with the Hannah Montana cast. (Ages 7 and older) --Tami Horiuchi

"Hannah Montana" Copies Off of "That's So Raven"!!!! July 22, 2008 BJay (Hilliard, OH) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
That's So Raven is way better than Hannah Montana. I mean, Raven actually is hilarious, is a great actress, and can sing. Miley Cyrus, on the other hand, can't act that good. She is an OK singer, she can only sing Rockish Alternative Pop music because her voice is so raspy. Hannah Montana copies off of That's So Raven in these ways: 1. About a pop star, who keeps it a secret from everyone, but her family knows she is Hannah Montana. (Raven is psychic, only her family and friends know. It's a secret from everyone else.) And, that's the biggest CLUE, that Hannah Montana is copying straight off of That's So Raven. Which is still Disney Channel's only show to have 100 episodes. Plus, Hannah Montana's viewers have gone down to 2 million every new episode. It music suck, because That's So Raven drew in over 3 million viewers every episode, and gets 1.8 million viewers on ABC Kids on Saturday Morning. NOW THAT'S TALENT!!!
Not my fave. May 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the third Hannah Montana DVD to be released. These are the episodes: * Achy Jakey Heart Pt. 1 * Achy Jakey Heart Pt. 2 * I Am Hannah Hear Me Croak * I Want You To Want Me To Go To Florida Being a Hannah Montana fanatic, I thought about going out and getting it the first day it was released. But, instead, I waited and got it at the library. And, boy, am I glad I waited! Personally, I think this DVD is really boring. For one thing, these just aren't my fave episodes. And for another, these are really popular episodes, that everyone has already seen at least twice. As far as Bonus Features go, they have two. Billy Ray Cyrus singing "Ready, Set, Don't Go"; and a "Behind the Scenes" with the cast. The music video is okay, but like the episodes, everyone has already seen it a half dozen times. Also, on the thing with the cast, they ask really boring questions, like "Would you like to have another identity?" or "Are you good with secrets?" They ask those same questions in every interview and magazine article! Overall, this is a DVD chock full of, well, nothing new. But, if you could find it on sale somewhere for 5 bucks, it might be nice to have, just to add to your collection.
