Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Lean Healthcare Jeopardy Game is a highly-engaging game to reinforce Lean concepts presented throughout a training session or workshop. This activity is typically conducted at the end of a training session. Lean Jeopardy allows for the group to be energized with the information that had been presented, while at the same time having fun in a competitive manner. The Lean Healthcare Jeopardy Game has four categories, What is it?, Why use it?, Where use it?, and Picture this? with 5 answers for each category. There is also an additional 100 answers provided in a Microsoft Word file from which you can cut and paste into the PowerPoint file for newer versions as you see fit. The new questions are referenced from The Lean Healthcare Pocket Guide (XL). The basic premise of the Jeopardy game/activity is for participants to provide questions (i.e., correct responses) to answers previously given by the facilitator from various categories. For example: Under the What is it? category the answer that is displayed is The concept that allows work to flow between processes with little or no queue time the correct response (or question to be asked) for $100.00 would be What is Just-In-Time? . Note: be flexible with the answers as What is continuous flow? could also be considered the correct response, it will depend on how it was defined during the training session. There are 4 categories in the version that is provided, but can be expanded to additional categories if desired. Each category is assigned a dollar value, with increasing dollar value with the difficulty level of the question. Note: the additional 100+ questions and answers provided are fairly even in their difficulty and can be placed in any of the $100 - $500 categories. The important aspect of this game is for everyone to begin to understand how these tools and concepts are defined and used and none are meant to be made more or less important than the other.

5 out of 5 stars It Held their Attention and Help Them Learn   August 20, 2008
Cynthia Guy (Detroit, MI USA)
It's not always easy to hold the attention of Healthcare workers at the end of a training session. They are busy people and all have places to be and things to do. However, when we used the "Lean Healthcare Jeopardy Game" at the end of our training session for a client hospital they didn't want to leave. We made a big production out of it with the Jeopardy theme music and prizes. We ran several sessions and when the word got out about the game at the end, the next group came in and paid special attention to the session so they could do well in the game.

We now use this tool to supplement all our Lean training sessions. The nice thing about it is that it can be used for a group review at the end of the session or as an individual learning tool after initial training has been completed. Very creative and easy to use. You can make it as simple or as elaborate as you want.

5 out of 5 stars JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED FOR LEAN TRAINING   August 16, 2008
Rochelle R. Stafford (Ann Arbor, Michigan)
We found this Jeopardy Game as the answer to what was missing in our Lean training session. We now conclude our sessions with this 30 minute activity. We use The Lean Healthcare Pocket Guide as the class material, and now use the supplemental questions provided (in the Microsoft Word document included on the CD) as customizing the game to each training session - as new tools are reviewed and discussed. We have modified this version to include our Six Sigma training also. The PowerPoint file (and the 100s of additional questions for use) is the best buy in the market for Lean training support. Highly recommended!
