You get what you pay for October 8, 2008 Paul Molina (Irvine, CA, USA) This installment of GA is rather short at 25 minutes total running time, but what did you expect for only around $10 USD? To give some perspective, these 2 episodes originally aired in late 2003 in Japan (they sure took their sweet time bringing it state-side huh?) in between seasons 3.5 (Galaxy Angel Aa: Anime Legends Complete Collection) and 4 (Galaxy Angel X: Complete Collection). The real purpose of this short special was to announce and promote season 4. The 2 episodes are decent, I wouldn't consider them among the better episodes of the series, but they're certainly not bad either. In the first of 2 episodes Milfeulle (front and center with pink hair) seemed very out of character for much of the episode which lost it some points in my book. Also, Ranpha's (Blonde on the left) english voice has been changed. The new voice actress does a pretty good job at mimicking the character's old voice, but it is in fact noticeably different at times, which might bother some people like it did me (I personally had to switch it over to Japanese). The disc attempts to make up for the length by piling on the extras, however, only hardcore fans of the series need apply. The extras hold little value to casual watchers and people new to anime might be scared away by culture shock. Plus if you don't want to be disillusioned by seeing what the voice actresses look like, then you too should stay away from the extras. This installment of the series is nothing spectacular, but at least it's cheap.
