Amazon.com Disney's 1986 Flight of the Navigator combines a strong ensemble cast and classic '80s soundtrack with dazzling special effects for a high-flying sci-fi adventure. While searching for his little brother in the woods, 12-year-old David Freeman (Joey Cramer) falls down a ravine and is knocked unconscious. After what seems like minutes, he returns home, only to discover that eight years have passed since he was declared missing and presumed dead. Even more mystifying is that David hasn't aged, nor can he account for the time lapse. Meanwhile, NASA officials stumble upon a futuristic spacecraft and are determined to assess what David knows about it by locking him in a top-secret lab for scanning and testing. His only chance of escape is in the spacecraft manned by Max, a wisecracking robot. Cramer gives an earnest performance, which overcomes an imperfect script, while enough one-liners and imaginative animation will keep families engaged. Watch for Sarah Jessica Parker in one of her first film appearances. Rated PG for language. (Ages 6 and older) --Lynn Gibson

Good Movie September 15, 2008 J. Ennis (NC, USA) This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. When I saw it on Amazon, I had to buy it for my son. He loved it as well. Shipping was fast.
pretty good 80's movie July 30, 2008 Joe Church (Tampa, FL) This is one of those 80's movies I saw as a kid and recently decided to buy and watch it again. While it is defaintely dated, it has a good story, interesting characters and just the right touch of sci-fi. Acting is only so-so for most of the characters, but its still a pretty good movie and one the whole family can enjoy.
Great Movie! July 16, 2008 Teressa Johnson (Warsaw, Indiana United States) I watched Flight of the Navigator when my kids were little. They wore out my VHS so I found the DVD for my grandkids. They loved Max, but really liked the little alien dude. Thanks for making these great movies available at a great price on Amazon
What a movie !!! July 12, 2008 J. Spitzer (Southern California) My kids wanted to revisit their childhood and asked if I could get the movie... I was pleased at the speed of the arrival and the ease of ordering the dvd.... was quite pleased overall.....
FLIGHT OF THE NAVIGATOR - Another great family movie (for a sci-fi Dad) June 28, 2008 Keith Mirenberg (www.spaceanimations.org) FLIGHT OF THE NAVIGATOR was a five star movie that I would endorse for almost any family looking for good general entertainment. My boys enjoyed it very much as did my wife. As a Disney film it used the never worn out Disney theme of a family separated by circumstances beyond their control. In this case the young hero of the movie is abducted by an alien spacecraft piloted by an Artificial Intelligence (AI) who sounded very familiar. The abducted boy is missing for a period of years only to be returned to his family not a day older but eight years later. After a series of medical tests conducted at a local hospital to explain the mystery (which has the family as well as the police baffled), NASA steps in and "borrows" the boy for a few days of further testing trying to understand a recently recovered and very secret UFO. This is when the movie really takes off and is extremely entertaining. When my family some years later visited Disneyworld we found on their back lot two beautiful full size UFO mockups used for the filming of this movie. The first had no door and was used to represent the impenetrable UFO and the second was modeled with the door open. It was great fun to see the very stylish and full scale UFO mockup in the "flesh".
