Slaying with Style! September 29, 2008 Roy A. Mayfield (Lincoln, NE) 1 out of 15 found this review helpful
This every bit the beautiful and impresive package that I imagined it would be. It looks as great on my bookshelf as it does on my TV screen. Seems like alot of cash (It took a couple of years to finally be able to aford the cost) but, being a huge fan of this show, it was well worth it.
As bad as it gets September 25, 2008 REDRUM (TEXAS) 26 out of 48 found this review helpful
When a show is canceled twice by two different networks that should tell you the show is pretty bad and unable to get rating to support keeping it on. This is the case with Buffy. The show was just plain bad.The acting was awful, the story lines unbelieveable and so politiclaly motivated that it made it hard to stomach. No network would take a chance on reving this lowly show. Now we have severals discs of the show. Each one guarenteed to bore you and make you shake your head. Several discs of bad acting, bad story lines and more to make you cringe. Atleast amazon will get it to you in a good amount of time . they do have excellent shipping at amazon. Other wise this is not worth it to watch. youll be sick to your stomach after a few minutes
Top Notch Show September 22, 2008 D. Dunivan (Kansas) 2 out of 13 found this review helpful
I am not that young anymore and I have to say that this is still my favorite television show of all time!! It is fun to watch for all ages and has some interesting and fun story lines. I am a HUGE fan of Buffy and friends and hope that someday we can actually see a reunion movie!!
Outstanding epic series September 21, 2008 Mace Moneta (Manalapan, NJ) 3 out of 12 found this review helpful
Shortly after my 52nd birthday (May, 2008), I received the complete series DVDs. I had never watched the show, but many people recommended it to me, since I liked Firefly/Serenity and science fiction in general. I figured I'd watch them to fill the summer void. I'm retired, and have a lot of free time to allocate as I choose. I started watching June 3rd... and ended up devouring all 144 episodes in 10 days. At the end, I just wanted to hug the DVDs. I've since watched the series four times in as many months. The program is incredible. I didn't really connect with the characters until the 7th/8th episode, but after that I just couldn't get enough. I've been a science fiction fan all my life. I've read all the greats. I've watched all the movies. I've seen all the TV programs. No book, movie or program has made me feel a genuine emotional connection to the characters the way this program has. I've laughed, I've cried, I've been shocked, confused and amazed. I have since discovered that the show won many awards (33), and even more nominations (99). Not enough. It will never be enough. Thank-you to everyone involved in creating this. I'm now a fan for life.
Buffy reminicing September 20, 2008 Melissa M. Bennett (Kearns, UT United States) 2 out of 12 found this review helpful
I was a huge fan of the series when it was on tv! It's fun to go back and watch the episodes and see the characters develop, plus it's nice to be able to watch your favorite episodes whenever you want! The only thing I didn't like was that on some of the DVDs you have to wait for an animation sequence before you can watch the episode and there is no way to skip past it and just get right to the episode, it can get annoying. But overall I would really recommend it.
